Marguerite F. Rowland, 91, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, at home in Richmond, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 20, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Rowland at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 9:00 P.M. Friday. The family will meet with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. Saturday prior to service. Interment Baker Cemetery near Lane, Kansas. Marguerite was born on Tuesday, July 11, 1922 in Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the daughter of Claude and Vina (Smith) Witt. She lived in the rural Richmond area for the last seventy years. She had previously lived in Osawatomie, Kansas City, Missouri and Santa Monica, California. Marguerite graduated from Osawatomie High School with the class of 1941. She later attended Business College in Kansas City, Missouri. On May 8, 1942 Marguerite was united in marriage with Frederick Marvin Rowland in Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2003. Survivors include her three daughters, Beverly Kelley and husband Jack of Lenexa, Becky Stottlemire and husband Don of Rantoul, and Sherri Baker of Richmond; grandchildren, Tony Stottlemire and wife Michelle of Ottawa, Rod Stottlemire and wife Sheri of Oskaloosa, Matthew Baker of Ottawa, Nathan Baker of Richmond, David Kelley and wife Jeannette of Overland Park; great grandchildren, Cole Kelley, Brandon Dargon, Shawn, Bryce, Emma and Piper Stottlemire, Layla and Bentley Baker. Marguerite was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was a member of the Lane Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
