Margaret Rose Stipp was born May 3, 1918, at Lane, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ernest Egbert and Mary Elizabeth (White) Crouch. A lifelong Franklin County, Kansas resident, Margaret made her home in Ottawa, until her death Monday, December 2, 2002, at the age of eighty-four years. She graduated from Lane High School with the class of 1935, and attended Ottawa Business College for one year. She was a lifelong homemaker. She was also a teller for several years at Kansas State Bank in Ottawa in the 1940's. Mrs. Stipp was a faithful, active member of North Baptist Church in Ottawa. She was former president of American Baptist Women, Sunday School superintendent and teacher, and, church financial secretary. In addition to her church activities, when Paul and Barbara were young, she also enjoyed helping with Boy Scouts and Brownies. In her leisure time, she quilted, making lovely gifts for her family, including a quilt for each of her granddaughters. She was also an avid reader and pet lover. Most important to Margaret was her time with her family and grandchildren and caring for her home. On June 12, 1947, Margaret was united in marriage with Clifford L. Stipp at Ottawa. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1995. She is also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Ethel Suffron, Elsie Hieber, Martha Crouch, Bessie Stewart; and, two brothers, Roy Crouch and Raymond H. Crouch. She is survived by her son, Paul Edward Stipp and his wife, Patsy, of Neodesha; daughter, Barbara Corder and her husband, Scott, of Ottawa; three granddaughters, Rebekah Stipp of Neodesha, Melissa (Meisel) Blanco of Ottawa, Megan Meisel of Ottawa; and, three great-granddaughters, Katelyn Blanco, Payton Blanco and Hannah Blanco. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2002. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Scott Dickinson. IN STATE: Mrs. Stipp will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 10:00 a.m. Tuesday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service.
