Margaret Mary Schwartz

Margaret Mary (Susie) Schwartz, of Bucyrus, Kansas passed away at age 87 on May 11, 2018 at St. Luke’s South Hospital. Visitation will be 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church Wea 22770 Metcalf Road Bucyrus, KS 66013. Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the church, burial will follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. She was born July 12, 1930 to Charles and Mary Vollmer in the Good Intent Community outside Atchison, Kansas. Margaret attended St. Louis Church and grade school. She was a graduate of Mount St. Scholastica Academy in Atchison and St. Margaret’s School of Nursing in Kansas City, Kansas. During her career she worked at Shawnee Mission Medical Center and Leawood Family Care among others. Margaret married Joseph Schwartz on October 27, 1951 and moved to the family farm in Bucyrus where she resided until her death. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, who died March 3, 2008 and her brothers, Augustine, John, Joseph, and Louis. She is survived by her son, Terry of Ellensburg, Washington; and daughters, Linda (Al) of Shelton, Washington, Vicki of Kansas City, Missouri, Connie of Olathe, and Barbie of Prairie Village, as well as her grandchildren, Mindy (Chris), Ashley and Alexis, Heather and Luke, Brandon and Bradley; and great-grandchildren Jack and Emma. She was a member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Wea Community for over 60 Years. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, contributions to Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
