A Remembrance Mass to honor Margaret's life will be held at 11:00 am. Inurnment will be held Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery in Yakima, WA.
Margaret was united in marriage to George Zivelonghi in 1949, and together they embarked on a journey that spanned over five decades. They were partners not only in life but also in the dairy business from 1949 to 2001, where their hard work and commitment left a lasting legacy. They hosted many dairy tours. Margaret's contributions to the business were marked by resilience, versatility and a tireless work ethic.
Beyond her dairy operation professional endeavors, Margaret was an active member of the Southern California Women’s Club, where she forged enduring friendships and contributed to the community she held dear. Margaret or Marge to some, was a volunteer at the 1984 Olympic Shooting Venue and Track and Field events at the LA Coliseum. She proudly wore her Olympic uniform and shared stories of each day’s events.
She loved to host friends and family for holiday events, typically cooking the entire meal; no matter how large of a group. In her later years, she switched up and enjoyed the cooking of others. She loved to go out to eat.
Margaret's zest for life manifested in her passion for travel. Alongside George, she explored the corners of the world, all seven continents, creating memories. Their adventures were a testament to their shared love for discovery and cultural exploration. Through these travels Margaret and George formed numerous valued relationships.
Family was at the heart of Margaret's joy. She was preceded in death by her husband George. She is survived by her daughter Toni Ann Williams (Dwight) of Bucyrus, KS and son Larry Zivelonghi (Robin) of Newport Beach, CA. She cherished her grandchildren: Renata Williams, Doug Zivelonghi (Sarah) , and Ryan Zivelonghi (Erica). She took delight in the presence of her great-grandchildren: Marcelo Zivelonghi, Daisy Zivelonghi, Luke Zivelonghi, Jack Zivelonghi and Presley Zivelonghi. She was “Zia” (“aunt” in Italian) to many as well. Her love and wisdom will undoubtedly continue to resonate through the generations.
Margaret found joy in the loyal companionship of pets over the years - most recently, her beloved dog, Molly. Together, they shared countless moments of joy, laughter, and quiet companionship (usually following Margaret giving Molly a biscuit). She also found enjoyment in attending, sports, movies, reading books and sending cards.
Margaret Zivelonghi leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and a life well-lived. Her kindness, grace, and unwavering commitment to her family and community will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of being part of her life. As we mourn her passing, let us celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she left on the hearts of those who loved her.
May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so freely gave to others.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Guide Dogs for the Blind, 350 Los Ranchitos Rd., San Rafael, CA 94903 in Margaret's memory, c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, P.O. Box 669, Louisburg, Kansas 66053.
