Margaret Maria Davidson, 63, of Paola, Kansas died May 10, 2020 at Azria Healthcare in Olathe after a long fight with Alzheimer's disease. She was born October 3, 1956 in Paola, Kansas with Down Syndrome, the oldest of three children of Loren Alpert and Viola (Knoche) Davidson. She attended preschool at the Ursaline Academy and then attended Lakemary when it was established. She worked at Tri-Ko sheltered workshop and lived at Sunrise House assisted living group home. Margaret participated in the first Special Olympics in Chicago, Illinois and continued participating several decades afterward in the Kansas Special Olympics. Many weekends she stayed on the family farm and loved the pets. She loved oldies music, reading Disney books, and watching Disney DVDs, going to church on Sundays, and going out to eat. She also loved to send friends and family birthday cards. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth of Paola and brother Tom of Dillon, Colorado. Margaret loved having holidays with her many loving cousins and dearly loved her friends at Sunrise House and Lakemary. No services are planned at this time due to COVID-19.
