Margaret Lee (Lawrence) Stuteville of Stilwell, Kansas, passed away on June 1, 2017 at the age of 96. Margaret Lee was born in Adrian, Missouri, the eighth of nine children, on February 5, 1921, to Samuel Thomas and Mary Etter Bradley Lawrence. She married Thomas Junior Stuteville on March 15, 1946, and welcomed a son, Samuel Thomas Stuteville, on March 21st of the following year. Margaret Lee worked as a cook, as well as a volunteer, at Stilwell School, before adopting her second child, Margaret Ann, born November 29, 1960. Margaret Lee is survived by her two children, Sam (Donna) Stuteville and Ann (Bob) Butler, as well as her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. For generations, she served as a mother and grandmother-figure for extended family members and her grandchildren’s friends. Margaret Lee was a resident of 310 Delaware for 46 years before moving to the Broadway Villa in Stilwell, Kansas, followed by Blackhawk Assisted Living in Spring Hill, Kansas. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of Blackhawk Assisted Living and Kansas City Hospice for the care and compassion they showed to Margaret Lee.
