Margaret Ella Dalrymple, 97, of Paola, passed away on December 8, 2023 at her home.
A visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the Paola Chapel.
Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at 10:30 A.M. at the First Baptist Church of Paola. Burial at Paola Cemetery.
She was born on September 27, 1926 to Orville and Mabel (Eastwood) Clinton.
Margaret grew up on a farm in Fontana and graduated from Fontana High School. After high school she worked as a teller at the Miami County National Bank while her husband served in World War II.
On December 2, 1945, she married Robert Dalrymple. Margaret and Bob made their home in Paola. Together they raised two sons, Lonnie and Randy, and one daughter, Sandy. She enjoyed being a stay at home mother while her children were in school.
Her life long passion was her flower garden that was enjoyed by all of her family, friends, and neighbors.
In Margaret's early years, she enjoyed creating ceramics for her whole family. Later, she enjoyed crocheting for the NICU babies, she would also crochet burial blankets and caps for the infants being laid to rest. In addition, she created and donated prayer shawls for churches.
Later in life, she was a successful Avon representative for 28 years.
She was a lifetime member of Eastern Star (75 year pin) as of 2019. She was also a charter member of Shamrock Study Club.
Margaret was very active in the Christian Church. She sang in the choir and served on several committees as well as taught Sunday school. Currently, she is a member of the First Baptist Church in Paola.
Our mother was a loving spirit having a human experience, sharing and generosity were her gifts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a sister, Mary Nadel, and brothers, Arthur Clinton and Orville Clinton Jr.
Margaret is survived by her children; Lonnie Dalrymple (Pat), Randy Dalrymple (Terrie), and Sandy Sharp (Bruce), 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many other family members and friends.
Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church of Paola.
