Margaret Bruce Miller

Margaret Miller passed away on February 28, 2024. She was born January 5, 1929, in Sacramento, California. Her parents were Catherine and William Slater. Margaret lived with her parents in Elk Grove, California and attended school there until 1946, when the family moved to Modesto, California. This is where Margaret would graduate from Modesto High School. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for several businesses in Modesto.

In 1950, she and Charles Herron were united in marriage. Charles was in the Air Force and they lived in many locations in the states and overseas. They had two children together. In 1970, she and Homer Miller were united in marriage and they resided in Wichita until his death in 1997.

She moved to Paola in 2001. Margaret was a member of the Lighthouse Presbyterian Church and served as a deacon and elder. She was very active in the churches activities. She was also a member of PEO and served as a volunteer at school, the Paola library, and the Miami County Hospital Auxiliary Board.

Margaret enjoyed the outdoors. She liked to garden and bird watch. She also enjoyed fishing and spent many happy hours on the lakes and ponds fishing with family.

She leaves behind her son, Terry (Amy) Herron, four step-children, nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at Lighthouse Presbyterian Church at a later date.
