Maddison Ann Gray was born Sunday, October 12, 1997, at Parkersburg, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Clarence Aldon Gray and Lisa Ann Stadler-Reece, D.V.M. Maddison moved with her family to Ohio for a short time, then to the Ottawa and Appanoose, Kansas area, where she made her home the past four years, until her death Monday, June 6, 2005, at the age of seven years. Maddison was a member of Michigan Valley United Methodist Church and Rambling Ranchers 4-H Club of Ottawa. She also liked to attend Sacred Heart Sunday School and Church and enjoyed her friendship with Fr. Tod. She was a vibrant first grade student at the Appanoose Grade School. She liked school and loved to read. She also enjoyed summertime, loved horseback riding and playing games, and especially, going to the Swirly Top with Grandpa. She was an energetic member of the Appanoose Recreation basketball and t-ball teams. Maddison was a beautiful and loving child. She enjoyed being with her family and friends and looked up to her older sisters. She is survived by her mother, Lisa Ann Stadler-Reece and her husband, Kevin, of the home; father, Clarence Aldon 'Bud' Gray and Kay Bethel of Ottawa; two brothers, Matthew A. Gray and Weston W. Reece, both of the home; three sisters, Audrey C. Reece and Autumn G. Reece, both of the home, and Rebecca Gray of Belpre, Ohio; grandparents, David G. and Phyllis Stadler of Rossville, Kansas, Jean Gray of Sistersville, West Virginia, Victor and Dorothy Reece of Overbrook, Kansas; great-grandmother, Thora V. Stadler of Alamogordo, New Mexico; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Clarence A. Gray, Sr., and great-grandfather, George Stadler. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Grace Community Church of Overbrook at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2005. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Pastor Bill Driver and Pastor Scott Dickinson. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Maddison at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 4:00 p.m. Thursday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Thursday evening.
