Madaline Courtney

Madaline Courtney, age 75, of rural Paola, Kansas died July 23, 2017 at her home. She was born August 23, 1941 to Gerald Oren Elwood, Sr. and Freda (Cummings) Elwood at Kansas City, Missouri. Madaline was married to Wayne L. Courtney on June 18, 1984 at Fort Scott, Kansas. They enjoyed working on their farm outside of Paola, Kansas. She had horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, turkeys and chickens that she took care of. She worked various jobs throughout the community most of her life. She was always willing to help those in need. She enjoyed raising funds for diabetes and other charities. Mattie as she was known enjoyed fishing with her friends as a hobby. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
