Mable W. Sinclair, age 97, of Paola, Kansas, died at her home on Monday, December 16, 2013, and went to be with her Lord and Savior. Mable was born on the family farm in the Block community on July 27, 1916, the sixth of eight children born to John and Lena (Kettler) Ohlmeier. She attended Debrick Grade School and Block Trinity Lutheran School. She was united in marriage to Lorenz Miller on February 4, 1940; he predeceased her in 1945. She was united in marriage to Ira Sinclair on December 7, 1947. They made their home on the Sinclair family farm east of Paola. Mable was a homemaker and worked as a cook for the Paola First Lutheran School retiring in 1978. She was a very active member of the First Lutheran Church in Paola. She was also a member of the Lutheran Women"s Missionary League, the Lutheran Braille Workers, Mary Martha Circle, and Ladies Quilting Group. She and her husband were foster parents for more than 17 years, having had seven foster children in their home. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, quilting, and embroidery in what spare time she had. She was preceded in death by her husband Ira who died in 1997, her parents, and six siblings Maggie Rentz, Ernie Ohlmeier, Albert Ohlmeier, Edna Wallace, Elmer Ohlmeier and Hulda Miller. She is survived by her daughters, Helen Tagler (Larry) of Paola and Shirley Walker (Larry) of Paola; son, Ralph Miller (Shirley) of Paola; foster son, Louis Chilson (Roseanne)of Paola; sister, Alma Sinclair of Paola; 7 grandchildren, Kathy Minden, Eileen Block, Roxann Montgomery, Nickki Lofing, Michael Walker, Pat Tagler and Matt Chilson; 12 great grandchildren, Jake Minden, Larry Keith Block, Logan Block, Loren Block, Laken Block, Eric Montgomery, Alexis Montgomery, Brian Lofing, Seth Lofing, Jace Lofing, Quintin Chilson and Bailey Chilson; other relatives and friends.
