Mabel Hook

Mabel "Irene" Hook, age 92, of Louisburg, Ks., died Nov. 15, 2007 at Louisburg Healthcare & Rehab Center. She was born Oct. 10, 1915 in Oklahoma, the daughter of Edward W. and Leota G. (Catlin) Sandstedt. She graduated from Stilwell high school in 1935. She was united in marriage to John Robert Hook in Olathe, Ks. on March 29, 1941. She lived in Stilwell before moving to Louisburg in 1949 where she was a housewife. Mabel loved to do crafts, puzzles, fishing and gardening She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, her parents, 2 sisters, Marie Fergason & Laurie Sheldon also a sister-in-law Vera Woltkamp. She leaves 4 daughters, Mildred I. Kircher & husband Frank of Louisburg; Janice L. Eidson & husband Tim of Goodson, Mo.; Patricia A. Spears & husband Paul of Louisburg; and Sandra S. Shave & husband Dean of Tallison, Arizona; 4 grandchildren, Rusty Nay & Charity Rice of Louisburg, Jerry Simmons of Arizona and Jason Simmons of Washington; 4 great grandchildren, Michael & Matthew Nay, Quincy & Karly Rice of Louisburg, many nieces and nephews.
