Lydia Viona 'Vi' Robe was born February 12, 1914, in Utica, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin and Sylvia (Morris) Chrisman. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri until 1961, moving to Williamsburg, Kansas. In 1999, she moved from Williamsburg to Hurst, Texas, where she made her home until her death on Tuesday, March 13, 2007, at the age of ninety-three years. Vi was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked at Parkview Drug fourteen years, owned and operated four different caf's, cared for fourteen foster children, and worked at the Ottawa Flea Market for twelve years. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Hurst, Texas and the Sadana Chapter No. 194, Order of the Eastern Star of Williamsburg, Kansas. Vi was an 'expert' shopper. She loved to spend time looking for new and exciting items. She also enjoyed crafts and canning in her spare time. Talking was probably her most well-known talent and pastime. Most dear to Vi was her time spent in the company of her friends and more importantly her loving family. On May 29, 1962, Vi was united in marriage with Charles W. Robe in Burlington, Kansas. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1999. She was also preceded in death by daughter, Darlene G. Lear.
