Lutitia Murice Persinger, 91, of Baldwin City, Kansas, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Private graveside services will be held later at Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Lutitia was born September 29, 1930, in Neodesha, Kansas, the daughter of Patrick Henry and Claudia Mae (Jones) Gibbons. She lived in Ottawa from 1958 to 1962, moving to Lawrence. In 1963, Lutitia moved to Baldwin City, where she made her home until her death. She graduated from Lamar Union High School in Lamar, Colorado, with the Class of 1949. On November 29, 1958, Lutitia was united in marriage to Paul E. Persinger in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2017. Lutitia was a telephone operator with Bell Telephone from the late 1940’s to early 1960’s. She later was the owner/operator along with her husband of Automotive Electric in Lawrence, from the mid-1970’s to mid-1980’s and was employed by Davol Medical Supply in Quality Control in Lawrence from 1986 until her retirement in 1995. She attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Lutitia enjoyed cooking and family nights playing games with her children and grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother and four sisters. Survivors include four children, Paul Persinger, Jr. of Ottawa, Laura Susan Persinger of Baldwin City, Cheryl Robinson of Garnett, and Julia Griffith of Ottawa; and four grandchildren, Katelynn Robinson, Nicholas Robinson, and Matthew Robinson all of Garnett, and Jared Persinger of Ottawa.
