Luella Ann (Rockers) Stiffler, at age 88, peacefully passed away on August 27, 2024, in Beaufort, South Carolina with family beside her. She was born on March 5, 1936, in Scipio, Kansas to John and Leona (Bowman) Rockers.
Luella grew up attending school in Scipio and Garnett, Kansas. She married Lloyd Leland Stiffler on May 7, 1955, and began her career at Southwestern Bell in Ottawa, Kansas and subsequently the United States Postal Service and SRS. She found her true calling in real estate, working for local agencies.
Married and raising children, she lived the farm life with her husband Lloyd. Together they tended cattle, pigs, and chickens while teaching the value of self-sufficiency. She was always preserving a bountiful supply of fruits and vegetables from the garden, and processing livestock for the freezer. Her involvement found welcome beyond her home, coaching girls summer softball league and serving with the Girl Scouts.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Charlie) of Beaufort, South Carolina; five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sisters Naomi Gregg of Raymore, Missouri and Wanda Powls (Bob) of Garnett, Kansas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents, John and Leona Rockers; brothers Clifford and Dale Rockers; sister Donna (Rockers) Miller; husband Lloyd Stiffler; twin infant daughters Rose Ann and Suzanne Marie; and son Ronald Stiffler.
A family inurnment at Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas will be held 10:00am, Friday October 25, 2024.
