Lucille Scherman

Lucille Scherman, age 88, of Paola, Kansas passed away August 16, 2017 at North Point Skilled Nursing, with her family by her side. She was born December 1, 1928 in Paola, Kansas. She was one of four kids born to Callie Ray and Kester Mae Porter. She graduated from Paola High School in 1947. She was united in marriage to Clifford Jerome Scherman on February 6, 1948 at Holy Trinity Parish in Paola. They became the parents of six children; Stephen J. (Marcia) Scherman of Lane, KS, Daniel J. Scherman, Fredrick L. (Katie) Scherman of Paola, Geralyn L. (Dan) Feuerborn of Scipio, KS, Thomas G. (Peggy) Scherman of Paola, and Ruth E. Scherman of Merriam, KS. She was a nurse at Miami County Clinic, sold Avon, was a homemaker, and a wonderful loving mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Daniel, brother Raymond, grandson Jason, and granddaughters Melinda and Melissa. She is survived by her children Steve, Fred, Geralyn, Tom, and Ruth; sisters Ruth Bolling and Doris (Jerry) Elwood; sister-in-law Alyce Porter; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Memorial contributions (in lieu of flowers) to Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Paola.
