Lucille E. Allan, 94, of Ottawa, passed away Monday, July 31, 2017, at Olathe Hospice House. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 7, 2017, at Calvary Baptist Church. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 P.M. to 5:30 P.M., Sunday, August 6, 2017, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona. Lucille was born Tuesday, June 26, 1923, in Shirley, Missouri, the daughter of Loransy and Nancy (Wiecks) Miner. She grew up in Potosi and Shirley, Missouri, and also resided in St. Louis, Missouri. Lucille lived in Ottawa for fifty-three years. Lucille was united in marriage to Gordon Allan January 13, 1946, in Melvern, Kansas. They shared 63 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Allan; parents; four sisters, Gladys Conway, Nancy Wood, Jessie Grissom, Myrtle Hollinsworth; and two brothers, Bill Miner and Virgil Miner. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Geiss and husband Gary of Olathe; and three grandchildren, Jessica Budke of Olathe, Christine Allan and Michelle Cook both of Princeton, Texas. Lucille was a devoted lifelong homemaker. She was also employed as an assembler at King Radio, Ottawa, in the 1970s. She was a 52-year member of Calvary Baptist Church, Ottawa. Lucille loved to cook and bake. She enjoyed fishing with her husband and they were known for sharing crappie and having fish fry’s.
