Lucile M. Stecher

Lucile M. Stecher, age 80, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Thursday, August 13, 2009, at Village Manor Nursing Home in Ottawa, KS. She was born on Friday, September 28, 1928, in Homewood, Kansas. She was the daughter of Ezra and Aurora (Beavers) Stewart. She was a resident of Ottawa since 2005, moving from rural Paola, Kansas. She also lived in the Baldwin, Kansas area and Olathe, Kansas. Lucile attended primary school in Homewood, graduating from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1946. She was employed at Delco Battery in Olathe, Kansas, retiring in1991. She attended Homewood Christian Community Church. On April 2, 1947, Lucile was united in marriage with Cecil Leroy Stecher in Miami, Oklahoma. They were divorced in 1974. She is survived by: Daughter-Marilyn Shivers & her husband, Bill, Chicago, IL Daughter-Delpha Callahan, Ottawa, KS Daughter-Diane Unrein & her husband, Tim, Linwood, KS Sister-Lois Cromwell & her husband, Donald, Weatherford, TX Seven Grandchildren Four Great-Grandchildren One Nephew and Several Cousins Her Friend-Charles Stottlemire She is preceded in death by: Mother-Aurora (Beavers) Stewart Father-Ezra Stewart Infant Brother-Clifford Bruce Stecher SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Lucile at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 9:00 a.m. Monday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Monday evening.
