Louise Harrell, 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Funeral services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 17, 2013. Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Harrell at Dengel & Son Mortuary from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Saturday and 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 4:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa Louise was born on Friday, June 29, 1928 in Gardner, Kansas. She was the daughter of James Ira and Allie Bell (Rankin) Davis. Louise was a lifelong Ottawa resident. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1946. On August 20, 1948 Louise was united in marriage with James Dean Harrell in Ottawa. They shared thirty years of marriage before he preceded her in death on December 6, 1978. Survivors include two daughters, Patti Hobbs and husband Gary of Hutchinson, Kansas and Dee Schneck and husband Mike of Lawrence, Kansas; three grandchildren, Bryan McNees of Ottawa, Kortney and Allyson Voss both of Lawrence; and in-laws, Eleanor and Jerry Harrell of Ottawa. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Loeta Davis and Leta Jones. Louise worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone as a telephone operator for thirty-five years. She also provided childcare from 1981 to 1990. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church; Pioneers of the Southwestern Bell Telephone Company; founding member of Westminster Presbyterian Women; Westminster Presbyterian Women’s Council; Franklin County Piece Makers Quilt Guild; Franklin County Breast Cancer Support Group; Oasis Club; and Kansas Quilters.
