Louise E. Eder

Louise E. Eder, 97, life-long resident of the Stilwell, KS area passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2009. She was born in Belton, Missouri on September 13, 1912. She grew up in the area, attended the Warrensburg Teacher"s College and taught for years in several schools in the Belton and Stilwell areas. She married Francis Eder on January 30, 1940 and lived on their farm in Stilwell. She served as Stilwell"s Postmistress for many years until she retired. She was member of the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Wea, Kansas. Louise enjoyed quilting, art, and spending time with her family. Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sara Sue and Kenneth Swickard, of Stilwell, Kansas; sister, Lorena Beard, of Belton, MO; grandchildren Mark Swickard (Michele), Bucyrus, KS; Bruce Swickard (Denise), Overland Park, KS; Diana Tate (Greg), Stilwell, KS; David Swickard (Julia), Olathe, KS; Janice Hanahan (John), Overland Park, KS; and Michael Swickard (Alissa), Orlando, FL; and 13 great-grandchildren, Rachel, Shelby, Nick, Tommy, Devin, Riley, Jacob, Megan, Savannah, Jack, Sam, Stella, and Luke. A visitation for Louise will be held at the Queen of the Holy Rosary Church in Wea, KS from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, October 13, rosary at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the church on Wednesday, October 14 at 11:00 a.m., burial immediately following.
