Louis J. Carter, 70 ,of Rantoul, Kansas died on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas. He was the son of Hazel Carter. He was born on Monday, December 31, 1934, in Kansas City, Missouri. Louis was raised by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Carter, in Paola, Kansas. He also lived in Fontana and Gardner, moving to Rantoul in 1987. He attended schools in Paola, Kansas. Mr. Carter was a truck driver, retiring in 1997. He was previously employed by Trans Am of Olathe, Yellow Freight of Lenexa, Bone`s Transportation, Watt`s Transportation, and Penny`s Ready Mix, all of Ottawa. In his younger years, he was a well-known race car driver at the Miami County Raceway. Louis served in the United States Army. Louis was a former member of Aerie Lodge #2673, Fraternal Order of Eagles of Paola, Kansas On October 31, 1953, Louis was united in marriage with Dorothy Seck in Louisburg, Kansas. They later divorced. On September 8, 1978, he married Wava (Wyatt) Schwab in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives of their home. Survivors include: Wife-Wava Carter of Rantoul, Kan. Daughter-Cyndi Carter of Independence, Kan. Son-David Carter of Breckenridge, Minn. Daughter-Robin Van Dyne of Independence, Kan. Son-Raylin Carter of Paola, Kan. Son-Tyler Carter of Rantoul, Kan. Step daughter-Lori Horan of Leavenworth, Kan. Step daughter-Kathy Feighner of Lane, Kan. Step Son-Brian Schwab of Rantoul, Kan. Cousin-Robert Stout of Kansas City, Mo. and numerous Grandchildren He was preceded in death by: Mother-Hazel Carter Brother-Roy Geiger SERVICES: Mr. Carter has been cremated.
