Lorraine Marie Reichard

Lorraine Marie Reichard, 75, of Pomona, Kansas, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, Wichita, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, May 15, 2023, Rock Creek Church of Christ, Ottawa, Kansas.

Family will greet friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Sunday, May 14, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa.

Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.

Lorraine was born Monday, November 10, 1947, in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Lorenzo and Lois (Wilkinson) Nitcher.

She was a lifelong Franklin County resident, graduating from Pomona High School with the class of 1965. Lorraine attended the Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia, Kansas.

Lorraine was married to Albert “Dusty” Reichard on August 25, 1968, in Williamsburg, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 29, 2009.

She worked at multiple daycares in Ottawa throughout the late eighties and early nineties. She also worked at West Franklin USD 287 as a para-professional for several years and was a substitute teacher working for several different area schools.

Lorraine was a member of the Rock Creek Church of Christ and was active in the community through the 4-H Pomona Pioneers. She enjoyed reading and crocheting, but especially loved being with family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Lois; husband, Albert “Dusty” Reichard; and daughter, Jennifer Jo “JJ” Reichard.

Survivors include Daniel Joseph “Danny” Reichard (Jenny) of Baldwin City, Kansas; brother, Lee Nitcher (Bonnie) of Pomona, Kansas; sisters, Jeanette Lewis and Pamela Olson (Duane) both of Pomona, Kansas; son-in-law, Mark Weaver of Chanute, Kansas; five grandchildren, Shawn Weaver, Shelby Weaver, Kiley Herman, Alyssa Reichard, Gunnar Reichard; and three great grandchildren, Greyson, Emerson and Harlow.
