Loretta Bomberger, 87, of Greeley, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 10, 2016, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, 13901 S. Blackbob Road, Olathe, Kansas. Loretta was born Sunday, January 20, 1929, in Santee, Nebraska, the daughter of Alvie Delay and Rilda Jane (Estes) Dooley. She lived in Nebraska; Glenview, Illinois; and Olathe, Kansas in her early years. In 1987, Loretta moved to Greeley. She graduated from high school in Columbus, Nebraska, and continued her education graduating from business college. Loretta was united in marriage with Wayne A. Bomberger January 20, 1949, in Omaha, Nebraska. He preceded her in death December 12, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Leonard Dooley. Survivors include her two children, Russell Bomberger and wife Carol of Prairie Village, and Jeanne Meador and husband Jay of Pomona; siblings, Ronald Dooley and wife Brigita of Lincoln, Nebraska, Janice Turnbaugh of Pomona, and Elaine Roach of Overland Park; six grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren. Loretta was employed after college as a secretary with American Bakery, in Nebraska. She worked 17 years for the United States Air Force ordering parts for Richards-Gebaur Air Force Base in Grandview, Missouri, retiring in the late 1970’s. She was a member of the Greeley United Methodist Church. Loretta enjoyed china painting, doll making, camping, traveling, and reading.
