Lorene Hinze

Lorene Hinze, age 90 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Sunday, February 24, 2013, at Ottawa Retirement Village. She was born on Thursday, July 27, 1922, in Osawatomie, Kansas, the daughter of Jess and Hattie (Evans) McKinney. Lorene has lived in Ottawa since 1967 moving from Perry, Iowa. On March 22, 1949 Lorene was united in marriage with Joe Lile in Kansas City, Missouri. They later divorced. She then married Dean Hinze on December 4, 1958 in Fort Scott, Kansas. They later divorced. Lorene worked as a waitress in the 1960’s and then as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Crestview Nursing Home, Ottawa, in the 1970’s and 1980’s. She is survived by her Son – Leon Lile and his wife Kathy of Waverly, Kansas; Daughter – Marlene Slifer and her husband (Robert) of Ottawa; Son – Ray Dover and his wife Debbie of Olathe, Kansas; Eight grandchildren; Twenty-one great grandchildren and Five great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her Parents – Jess and Hattie McKinney. Lorene was the last of twelve brothers and sisters. SERVICES: Memorial Service will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2013.
