Loran Edward “Ed” Owens, 83, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019, at Rock Creek of Ottawa. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Saturday October 19, 2019, at the LifeMission Church, 3085 Marshall Road, Ottawa. Inurnment will be held later at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Lincoln, Missouri. Ed was born July 4, 1936, in Buffalo, Missouri, the son of Jack and Ressie L. (Smith) Owens. He grew up in Missouri moving to Ottawa in 2014. Ed was united in marriage to Nola M. Yount May 26, 1957 in Marshall, Missouri. Survivors include his wife, Nola Owens of Ottawa; two daughters, Blenda Ricketts and husband John and Marie Wright and husband Teddy Sr.; two siblings, Charles Owens and Linda Hayes; three grandchildren, Amanda (Ricketts) King and husband Shawn, Teddy Wright, Jr. and wife Lyndzi, and Amy (Ricketts) Hodo and husband Daniel; and six great grandchildren, David Hodo, Asher King, Aidan Daniels, Alexander Hodo, Daxon King, and Chevelle Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Ressie Owens; and three siblings, Paul Owens, Lillian Swartz and Brenda Lewellen. Ed was employed at Kenworth as a welder. He attended the Kansas City Temple Church. Ed enjoyed fishing, camping, singing and playing the guitar in church. He was also a campground host at various Missouri state parks.
