Lola Mae Oehlert, age 86, of Bucyrus, KS, died December 4, 2010 at her home. She was born November 24, 1924 in Newkirk, Oklahoma, the daughter of Joseph and Louella (Brown) Leven. Upon her mother"s death during childbirth, Lola was taken in and raised by her mother"s sister and brother-in-law, Emma (Brown) and Eugene Reagen. She was united in marriage to Lloyd (Bud) George Oehlert on September 5, 1941 in Kansas City, KS. Lola was a housewife, school room assistant and loving mother. She loved gardening and canning the many vegetables that they grew. She enjoyed growing flowers and watching birds. Lola was a devoted wife and devout Catholic. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her parents that raised her; husband, Lloyd (Bud) Oehlert; 3 daughters, Ann O"Keefe, Brenda Link and Karen Bench; 2 brothers, Jack Leven and Jerry Leven and 1 granddaughter, Kala Marie Pooler. Survivors include one son, Kenny Oehlert and wife Denise, Louisburg, KS; 2 daughters, Terry Pooler Johns, Oklahoma and Peggy Oehlert, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; numerous friends and loved ones. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 12:00pm at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Bucyrus, KS. Visitation will be held from 5:00 " 7:00pm Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel with the Rosary being recited at 5:00pm. Burial will be in the Holy Rosary Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be given to Holy Rosary Catholic Church or Crossroads Hospice.
