Lola I. Boyer, born April 10, 1944 at Paola, Kansas, passed away January 1, 2014 at North Point Nursing Center. Lola was born at the Burson Nursing Home in Paola to Lola DeWeese Stuteville and Lon M. Skeens, Jr. Lola started her schooling at Stillwell Grade School and continued until 1960 when the family moved to La Cygne, Kansas. She graduated from La Cygne Rural High School with the class of 1962. In 1981 Lola graduated from the Kansas City College of Medical and Dental Assistants. She was employed in nursing homes during her working years; however, her favorite job was being a school bus driver. She enjoyed the children that rode on her bus. Lola enjoyed people and had many friends throughout the years. She also could be seen playing bingo and going to the Circle C to visit. At home she liked to work crossword puzzles and watch game shows. Lola always enjoyed going to a dance " her favorite partner was her brother Ron. Lola was preceded in death by her mother Lola DeWeese Stuteville, step-father Leon R. Stuteville, father Lon M. Skeens, Jr., brother Ronald G. Stuteville, half-sister Dixie Cousens, and grandparents Seldon & Esther Reimel DeWeese. She is survived by her son Merlin Murray of Butler, MO; grandsons Tony Murray of Norfolk, VA and Dale Murray of Butler, MO; great granddaughters Kashlee and Kylee Murray; sister-in-law Artie Stuteville; nephews and nieces Shawn Stuteville of Paola, Shannon Stuteville of Stockton, CA, Cadi Stuteville Marcum (Chris) of Paola, KS and Lee Burns. She is also survived by Cathy Mills of Osawatomie and daughters Jessica Mills and Mackenzie Mills. Lola always called Cathy her daughter and Jessica and Mackenzie her granddaughters. She loved and treasured them as her own family. Lola will always be remembered for her loyalty to and love of her family and friends.
