Lois Yvonne Hicks

Lois Yvonne Hicks, age 84, formerly of Greeley, Osawatomie, Lane and Parker, passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at Garden Terrace of Overland Park with her loving family by her side.

Lois was born March 16, 1938, at Greeley, Kansas, the daughter of the late Howard "Dan" Cunningham and Bessie (Troutman) Cunningham. She graduated from Osawatomie High School with the Class of 1956.

Lois was the devoted wife to the late William "Bill" Wesley Hicks. They were married in May of 1959. They became the parents of three daughters. They had been married 47 years at the time of Bill's passing.

Lois worked many years in health care. Her employment included the Osawatomie State Hospital, Anderson County Hospital, and home health care.

Lois enjoyed spending time with her entire family and loved cooking for them. She also enjoyed crafts and dancing. She was a member of the Cadmus Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.

Lois is survived by her daughters Vicki Belt (Ron) of Lane, Nancy Webber (Archie Bradshaw) of Lee's Summit, and Phyllis Burkdoll (Tim) of Rantoul; sister Patricia Schasteen of Osawatomie; 3 grandchildren Wes Blevins (Amanda), Tyler Burkdoll (Metzli), and Trever Burkdoll (Peyton); 2 great grandchildren Kadence and Ashlyn Blevins; many other relatives and friends.
