Lois Ann Richards, age 85, of Olathe, Kansas, formerly of the Paola and Louisburg area passed away January 26, 2019 at Wellsville Retirement Community. Lois was born to Lee and Helen (Potts) Chester on February 6, 1933 in Osawatomie, Kansas. She grew up in Paola, Kansas and graduated from Paola High School. On November 6, 1952 Lois was married to Herb Richards, and they lived in the Paola and Louisburg area for most of their married life. Lois retired at age 62 from King Radio. Her hobbies and talents included drawing, painting, and sewing. She was an avid bingo player. Lois was a big Elvis fan and still jammed out to his music even in her last days. She loved spending time with her family and loved watching them grow. She was known to sing to her children and each generation of grandchildren and greats. Lois had a sharp memory and shared the best stories. She filled many lives with love, laughter, and joy. Lois was known for her big heart and her quick, ornery wit. She had a beautiful, contagious smile and the ability to light up a room. She will be greatly missed. Surviving Lois are her daughters, Barbara Bussell, Rebecca Kresin, and Susan Nordlund; sisters, Nancy Head and Carolyn Bennett; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herb Richards; and brothers Howard, Donald, and Robert Chester.
