Lois Ann Markley, 75, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Olathe Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, February 29, 2016, at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Family will meet with friends from 4:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, February 28, 2016, at the mortuary. Interment Greenwood Cemetery, Franklin County, Kansas. Lois was born Wednesday, May 22, 1940, in Pomona, Kansas, the daughter of Charles and Edna (Reekie) Hamilton. She grew up in Pomona moving in 1958 to Ottawa. She graduated from Pomona High School with the class of 1957. Lois was united in marriage with Willard H. Ogle in 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death July 22, 1980. She married Jacob L. Markley January 16, 1985, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives of the home. Other survivors include her brother, Donald Hamilton and wife Vicki of Burlingame; four children, Penny Brewer and husband Frank of Topeka, Linda Firestone and husband Randy of Ottawa, Teri Webb and husband Justin of Pomona, and Craig Ogle and wife Tammy of Princeton; three step children, Lorena Alterman and husband Jason of Missouri, Chad Markley and wife Ginger of Ottawa, and Jeff Markley also of Ottawa; eleven grandchildren, Adam Brewer and wife Maggie, Sarah Majstorovic and husband Petar, TJ Evans and wife Mishaun, Tanner Webb and wife Rachel, Austin Ogle and wife Cassie, Kyle Brewer, Blake Firestone, Tyler Webb, Wyatt Ogle, Cody Webb, and Winston Ogle; four step grand children, Chelsie Keith and husband Blayne, Cody Alterman and wife Lindsey, Regan Markley, and Shelby Markley Taylor Borkus and husband Thomas; thirteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She was employed as a secretary for Gambles Department Store, sales clerk for OTASCO, sales clerk for Gibson’s Appliance, assembly for King Radio, and a bookkeeper for AGS Guttering, all of Ottawa. Lois was deeply devoted to her family and friends, and was a very proud grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, camping, selling tickets at the fairgrounds, KU basketball, Royals baseball, and her two pet dogs, Libby and Ebony.
