Lloyd L. Stiffler, 84, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Friday, January 8, 2016, at Ottawa Retirement Village. Cremation is planned. A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Holy Angels Cemetery in Garnett, Kansas. Lloyd was born Saturday, August 29, 1931, in Harris, Kansas, the son of Herbert R. and Bernice E. (Fouts) Stiffler. He attended Kincaid High School, Kincaid, Kansas. He was a lifelong Franklin County resident. Lloyd served during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army from 1951 until October 1959, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Memorial Post #5901 in Ottawa. Lloyd was united in marriage with Luella A. Rockers May 7, 1955, in Garnett, KS. She survives of the home. Other survivors include his two children, Pamela Chanay and fiancé Charles Finch of Baldwin City and Ronald Stiffler and wife Cheryl of Pomona; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Bernice Stiffler; and infant twin daughters, Suzanne Marie and Rose Ann Stiffler. He was a self-employed carpenter for forty-five years. Lloyd was a true family man, enjoying the time he spent with his family and grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman who gardened, was a beekeeper, fished and trapped.
