Lloyd G. Oehlert

Lloyd (Bud) George Oehlert, age 88, of Bucyrus, KS died Saturday Sept. 11, 2010 at his home. He was born on June 21, 1922 in Kansas City, KS the son of George and Lottie Mager Oehlert. On September 5, 1941 he was united in marriage to Lola Mae Leven in Kansas City, KS. Bud worked for Bolt, Nut and Screw Company for 43 years before retiring in 1989. He served during WWII in the United State Air Force as a Captain of the B-17 in the Flying Fortress. He farmed from 1969 to the mid 1990"s in the Bucyrus area. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 daughters, Ann O"Keefe Lukow, Brenda Link and Karen Bench; 1 sister, Wilma Kelly; 1 brother, Dean Oehlert; and 1 granddaughter, Kala Pooler. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Lola Mae Oehlert, of the home; 1 son, Kenny Oehlert, Louisburg, KS; 2 daughters, Terry Pooler Johns, Oklahoma and Peggy Oehlert, Missouri; 16 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church with military honors to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00 " 7:00 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Louisburg Chapel. Memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice or Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
