Lisle Schrecengost

Lisle Gerald Schrecengost, 80, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at his home. A memorial visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m, Friday, July 8, 2022, at Dengel & Son Mortuary/Crematory, Paola Chapel, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS, 66071. A memorial service will follow at 5:30 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions to Overland Park Arboretum which can be sent c/o the funeral home. Lisle was born Monday, November 3, 1941, in Rockville, PA, the son of Ellsworth Ross "E. R." and Janet Faith (Miller) Schrecengost. Lisle was united in marriage to Linda York, on July 11, 1970 in New Lancaster, Kansas. They made their home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for a short time before moving to Overland Park. They became the parents of two children Amber and Jana. They raised their children in Stilwell. They moved to Paola in 2020. Lisle was the owner and operator of Schreck's Remodeling for many years. If it could be created, he could make it happen. He had quite a vision for remodeling. The finishing touches and details were very important to him. He shared his remodeling knowledge with his children and grandchildren and was a good teacher. He was very creative, always crafting a variety of art work. He also loved to garden and growing flowers. He was known for his expertise in growing vegetables. Lisle had a very witty sense of humor. He was an outdoorsman who loved camping and hunting. He enjoyed following his children and grandchildren's sports activities. He was a Royals and Chiefs fan. He was a people person, making sure everyone was always taken care of. Lisle was always able to find the good in people. He loved to reminisce and tell stories. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Homer Schrecengost. Survivors include his wife Linda of the home; two daughters Amber (Fred) Moreau of Louisburg and Jana (Jason) Bickel of Cypress, TX; his brother Lloyd (Rosemary) Schrecengost of Frewsburg, NY; 4 grandchildren Ashley and Freddy Moreau and Jason Jr. and Jaxon Bickel; many other relatives and friends.
