Lisa Vencel, 53, of Williamsburg, Kansas, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at her residence.
Lisa was born March 4, 1971, at Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Tom Taylor, Sr and Betty (Adams) Taylor.
Lisa grew up in Williamsburg, graduating from Williamsburg High School. She later moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma before moving to Kincaid, Kansas, where she worked as the city clerk. Lisa then moved back to Williamsburg to be near family.
Lisa was united in marriage to Kevin Vencel on November 30, 1989, having one son, Kenneth.
Lisa spent a great amount of time taking care of her four grandchildren. She wasn't your sit back and watch grandma. She was right there alongside them playing. They truly were the light of her life. She was a grandmother figure to many families in her small community. Lisa would truly try to make every child feel special and most of all loved. If she wasn't taking care of the grandkids she was caring for her mother. In her free time, she loved to take pictures for anyone who asked. It was a talent that she loved to share free of charge. Lisa's new-found passion was working out with the ladies at Jazzercise. You could always count on Lisa being there in the morning ready to go with a smile on her face. Her last passion was the love she had for all animals, especially her dogs. Lisa was very active in the Williamsburg community. Always there to lend a helping hand. No matter the need she could always be counted on.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father. Lisa is survived by her son, Kenneth (Sarah); her grandchildren, Hannah, John, Kenzie and Gracie; her mother, Betty; her sisters, Wendy Green, Betty Jo Taylor, Alicia Wadkins (David); brother, Thomas Taylor, Jr. (Desiree); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will gather to meet with friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa, Kansas.
A private graveside service will be held on a later date, at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas.
