Linda Sue Fowler, age 69, of Joplin, Missouri, formerly of Ottawa, passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at The University of Kansas Medical Center, in Kansas City, Kansas.

Visitation will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 17, 2023, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S Hickory St., Ottawa, Kansas 66067. Graveside service will take place at 11:30 am, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona, Kansas.

Linda was born on Tuesday, October 3, 1954, in Lawrence, Kansas. She was the daughter of Delbert and Virginia (Axline) Toumberlin. Linda grew up in Ottawa. She married David Burgoon in 1971, and had two children, David Jr. and Cassie. They later divorced. Linda moved to Wyoming and lived there for five years. She moved back to Ottawa in the mid 1980s.

Linda married C.E. Bud Fowler, Jr., on January 2, 1981, in Ottawa, Kansas. Bud preceded her in death on October 20, 2015.

She worked for eight years at Walmart as a department manager. After her time with Walmart, Linda worked for Chartwells Food Service as a cook. She made meals for the children of the Ottawa School District.

Linda spent the last five years of her life in Joplin, Missouri. She enjoyed to make crafts for family and friends. Linda especially loved sewing and quilting.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bud Fowler, father, Delbert Toumberlin, and brother, Teddy Toumberlin.

Linda is survived by her two children, David Burgoon Jr., of Auburn, Kansas, and Cassie Steffes, of Bismarck, North Dakota, mother, Virginia Toumberlin, of Ottawa, Kansas, step-daughter, Nancy Pace, of Wyoming, step-son, Tony Fowler, of Utah, siblings, Reita Welton, of Ottawa, Kansas, Neita Marvin, of Ottawa, Kansas, Charles Toumberlin, of Quenemo, Kansas, Peggy Mason, of Uniontown, Kansas, Richard Toumberlin, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Cindy Bell, of Joplin, Missouri, seven

grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
