Linda R. Baskett

Linda R. Baskett, 72, of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, at AdventHealth Ottawa. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 28, 2021, at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Family will meet with friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Friday, August 27, 2021, at the mortuary. Interment Highland Cemetery, Ottawa. Linda was born April 22, 1949, in Ottawa, the daughter of Clifford and Evelyn (Diamond) Griffin. She grew up and lived many years in Ottawa, moving to Lincoln, Missouri, where she resided 10 years. In 2020, Linda returned to Ottawa, where she made her home until her death. She graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1967. On November 3, 1978, Linda was united in marriage to Warren Baskett in Kansas City, Missouri. They shared nearly forty-three years of marriage and he survives of the home. Linda was a devoted lifelong homemaker who adored and cherished her children and grandchildren. All children had a special place in her heart and were thought of as her own. She attended Centropolis Baptist Church. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sibling infant twins, Donnie and Jackie Griffin, brother Dennis Griffin, and sister Marion Olsen. Survivors include five children, Paul Zaner of Kansas City, Missouri, Melissa Jirgens (Matt) of Lehigh, Kansas, Loretta Brown (Jimmy) of Blue Springs, Missouri, Jamie Evans of Baldwin City, Kansas, and Jackie Baskett (Joe Infranca) of Kansas City, Missouri; two siblings, Pat Atchison (Don) of Ottawa, and Judy Waters of Montgomery, Alabama; sister-in-law Janice Griffin of Ottawa; ten grandchildren and a great grandson.
