Linda M. Horttor, 65, longtime Paola resident, died Monday, February 9, 2015, peacefully in her home. Linda was born October 30, 1949 in Paola, KS to John and Evelyn Brewer. She moved to Kansas City, KS and Euless, TX, before returning to Paola. She worked as a Licensed Mental Health Technician at Osawatomie State Hospital where she met her husband, Carl Horttor. They were married on March 31, 1973. They made their home in Paola and raised their daughter and son. After leaving the State Hospital, Linda worked at Medical Lodge in Paola until she retired. Linda enjoyed cooking, canning vegetables from their garden, and fishing. She also enjoyed spending time with her two granddaughters; they were her pride and joy. Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Evelyn Brewer; brother, Johnny Lee Brewer; and nieces Donna Jo Fizell and Teresa Brewer Davis. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Carl Horttor of the home; daughter, Tammy Harris (Chuck) of Paola; son, Todd Horttor of Paola; two granddaughters, Kristin Diefendorf (Ben) of Lawrence and Amber Harris of Paola; great grandson expected March 6, three brothers, Larry Brewer (Joice) of Olathe, Mike Brewer (Flora) of Paola, and Rick Brewer (Cheryl) of Olathe; three sisters Jo Herndon (Tony) of Texas, Betty Staggs (Harrell) of Arkansas, and Pam Bryant of Paola; many loved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends including Connie Ebeck and Bonnie Pickert.
