Linda Lee (Ternes) Chancellor, 61, passed away on April 22, 2012 at the Kansas City Hospice House after a brave battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas Chancellor of Overland Park. Linda was born September 6, 1950 in Kingman, Kansas to the late Leo and Irene Ternes. She grew up in Conway Springs, Kansas and attended her entire school career there. She courageously went to college at a late age to get her teaching degree so she could continue to educate children in her home preschool that she owned for 28 years. Linda enjoyed camping, reading, gardening and most of all, spending time with her 4 grandchildren. Linda was an incredible woman and enjoyed everything outdoors and loved watching her Indianapolis Colts and Conway Springs Cardinals play football. She was fortunate to be surrounded by her family and many friends during her illness. She is survived by her husband Thomas Chancellor of Overland Park; 3 daughters, Shannon Jumet of Paola, Angie Fiocati of Spring Hill and Christi Thomas of Overland Park; 4 grandchildren, Meghan Buche, Bailey Buche, Jacob Gibson and Landon Thomas; 3 brothers, Jim Ternes and Roger Ternes of Wichita and Kenny Ternes of Derby. She was preceded in death by her parents Leo and Irene Ternes. In lieu of flowers, contributions can me made to the Linda Chancellor Memorial Fund in care of Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home at 305 N. Pearl, Paola, Kansas 66071.
