Lillian graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Council Bluffs, Iowa, with the class of 1949 and attended Ottawa University for three years, majoring in music. She was a cheerleader and choir member at the University. She taught music in rural schools for over five years and continued her career teaching private piano and organ for many years. She was an accomplished artist, teaching china painting and jewelry design privately and through the Ottawa Arts Council. She was a master restorer of porcelain art and fine china and certified personal property appraiser. Lillian`s reputation for her knowledge of antiques was well known, and she shared that knowledge and passion for antiques with her husband. She was a partner with her husband in his businesses. For over 20 years, they owned and operated an antique and restoration shop, Silver Arrow Trading Post, in Ottawa. In the 1970`s, she worked at Ottawa University as assistant manager of food service. Lillian was an active member of First Baptist Church, serving on the church council and as a deacon. She was also active in circle and other fellowship/prayer groups. She served on the board of the Franklin County Historical Society, and was a former member of Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, during which time she participated in the Follies, a fund raiser for the Auxiliary. On October 21, 1951, Lillian was united in marriage with Bob Lantis at Ottawa. He survives of their home. Also, surviving are two daughters, Patricia Mueller of Custer, South Dakota, Barbara Basel of Princeton, New Jersey; two brothers, James Buck of Dallas, Texas, Carl Buck and his wife, Kitty, of Red Oak, Iowa; sister, Virginia Moats and her husband, Bill, of Park Rapids, Minnesota; two granddaughters, Jessica Mueller, Lennea Mueller; and grandson, Ben Mueller. She is preceded in death by her parents. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6, 2001, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Services will be held Thursday, June 7, 2001, at 10:00 AM at Highland Cemetery. Pastor Steven C. Van Ostran will be officiating. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery on Thursday, June 7, at 10:00 AM.
