Letha Nicolodi, age 89, of Paola, Kansas, died Monday, January 16, 2012 at North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola. Letha was born April 2, 1922 at Hoisington, Kansas. She was one of five children born to Daniel Jackson and Ruth Marie (Cravens) Truitt. She was married to John Fred Nicolodi on May 9, 1953 at Wheatland, California. They made their home in California. Letha was a very loving soul. She was the happiest when she was with all the kids and grandchildren. She loved to fix big meals for everyone. Her fried chicken was out of this world. She loved to go fishing for catfish and crappie. She was also a caregiver. She loved being around people. Letha will be missed by everyone who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter Elizabeth Rose Guyett, and one son Jack Guyett. She is survived by her daughter Shirley Buie of Osawatomie; her son John Fred Nicolodi, Jr. of Modesto, California; 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She will lie in state Friday, January 20, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Paola from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A private burial will be held at a later date in Modesto, California. Memorials are to North Point Skilled Nursing in Paola.
