Leslie Harold Slyter, 89, of Paola, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 1, 2018. Leslie Harold Slyter 89, of Paola, KS passed away at the Olathe Hospice House surrounded by family April 1, 2018. Leslie was born August 7, 1928 in Havre, Montana. He lived on a ranch in Havre until he was 16 before his family moved to Paola in 1944. He was united in marriage to Pat Phifer April 6, 1954. They had three children, Paul Slyter of Spring Hill, KS, Renee Hager of Paola and Mark Slyter of Paola. They had 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He also has two brothers, Dave and Lowell Slyter. Leslie was a hard worker and farmed all of his life. He enjoyed raising cattle and working on all kinds of projects for anyone who needed a helping hand. He also loved watching his grandchildren at sporting events especially wrestling. He never wanted to miss a tournament. His faith was the most important thing to him and he lived his life accordingly. He loved people and was willing to help anyone who asked. Leslie was a unique man and was loved and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Helen Slyter and a brother Stanley Slyter. Memorials may be made to Lighthouse Haiti Project in care of Dengel and Son Mortuary. Visitation is 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 305 N. Pearl St., Paola, KS. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018, at Cross Point Assembly of God, 1016 N. Pearl St., Paola. Burial in Paola Cemetery.
