Leslie C. McCurdy, 81, of Kansas City, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 4, 2013. He was born on August 25, 1931, in Williamsburg, Kansas, the son of Floyd and Beulah (Richeson) McCurdy. Leslie has lived in Kansas City, Kansas for over forty years. He graduated from Williamsburg High School with the class of 1949. Leslie worked for over forty years for General Motors as a Team Leader on the Production Line and he also worked for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway on the track crew. Leslie served in the United States Army during the Korean War as Corporal with the 72nd Tank Battalion, Baker Company. He was wounded in battle and discharged in 1954. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles; Loyal Order of Moose since 1977; Grand Lodge of Kansas A.F. Sadana Chapter 194 Order of the Eastern Star of Kansas; and the American Legion. Survivors include his son, Craig McCurdy and wife Kathy of Overland Park, Kansas; daughter, Shelley DeGrande and husband John of Gardner, Kansas; grandchildren, Alex and Ben DeGrande, Loarn Hinkle, and Nikki McCurdy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Beulah McCurdy. VISITATION: The family will meet with friends at Dengel & Son Mortuary, from 1:30 to 3:30 P.M. Friday, June 7, 2013. CEMETERY: Private Inurnment to be held at a later date at Mt. Hope Cemetery, Williamsburg, Kansas.
