Leona Mae Waddle

Leona Mae Waddle was born October 14, 1941, at Osawatomie, Kansas. She was the daughter of Floyd and Dorothy (Head) Waddle. She was a long time resident of Franklin County, Kansas, living in Lane, Princeton and Homewood, moving to Branson, Mo. in 1995 and Rockaway Beach, Mo. in 1999, where she made her home until her death Tuesday, July 16, 2002, at the age of sixty years. She was a lifelong homemaker. She also worked in the laundry department of several Branson motels. In the early 1950's, Leona was united in marriage with Wilbur Kennedy. They were later divorced. In the early 1960's, she was united in marriage with Carl Thompson. They were later divorced. She is survived by five sons, Ray Kennedy of Osawatomie, Randy Kennedy of Rockaway Beach, Mo., Ronnie Kennedy of Waverly, Carl Thompson, Jr. of Rockaway Beach, Mo., Allen Thompson of Princeton; two daughters, Lesa Thompson of Eldon, Mo., Mary Thompson of Eldon, Mo.; brother, Eddie Waddle of Homewood; nineteen grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and aunt, Jessie Waddle of Springfield, Ma. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Kathryn Mae Kennedy; and two granddaughters. SERVICES: Graveside inurnment services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002, at Lane Cemetery. CEMETERY: Lane Cemetery, Lane, Kansas.
