Leona Frances Priddy

Leona Frances Priddy, age 88 of Ottawa, Kansas, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013, in Wichita, Kansas. She was born on Friday, March 21, 1924 in Ford County, Kansas, the daughter of Harry Edward and Ina Bertha (Camp) Reekie. She has been a resident of Ottawa since 1942 moving to Independence, Kansas in 2008. Frances attended schools in Pomona, Kansas. She worked thirteen years as an assembler for King Radio in Ottawa. Frances was a member of Community Foursquare Church. On May 20, 1942 Frances was united in marriage with Boyd Jr. Whitcher in Ottawa. They were later divorced and he preceded her in death on December 6, 2007. On Saturday, May 3, 1986, Frances was united in marriage with William J. Priddy in Ottawa, KS. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1998. She is survived by her: Daughter – Betty Zotta and her husband, Andy, of Lake St. Louis, Missouri Son - Terry Whitcher and his wife, Diana, of Overland Park, Kansas Son - Merle Whitcher and his wife, Peggy, of Flower Mound, Texas Daughter - Peggy Lynn Norton and her husband, Jerry, of Cherryvale, Kansas Daughter-Jane Scepanski of Edmond, Oklahoma Brother – Carl Reekie of Mulvane, Kansas Sister – Zelda Gifford of Waverly, Kansas Sister - Dorothy Ware of Augusta, Kansas Grandchildren-15 Gt.Grandchildren-33 She is preceded in death by her: Parents – Harry and Ina “Camp” Reekie Sister - Opal With Aunt-Edna Hamilton A couple of nieces SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mrs. Priddy at Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Friday, to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. CEMETERY: Interment Greenwood Cemetery in Franklin County, Kansas.
