RESIDENCE HISTORY: She has lived in Ottawa since 1968. She had previously lived in Osawatomie, Garnett, and Kincaid. EDUCATION: Leona attended Ottawa High School with the class of 1957. OCCUPATION & BUSINESS: In the late 1960`s, she worked as a dispatcher for A-1 Cab Co.; late 1970`s, North American Hotel; mid 1970`s, Norge Village Laundry; late 1970`s, Hallmark Inn in the housekeeping department; and, twenty-four years as clerk for Franklin County Transfer Station, retiring May 20, 2004. MEMBERSHIPS: She was a member and former Deacon of North Baptist Church in Ottawa. She was also a member of Ottawa Promenaders Square Dance Club, of Ottawa. MARRIAGE: On August 24, 1955, Leona was united in marriage with Joe Fred Scott at Mattfield Green, Kansas. The were later divorced. On January 12, 1976, she was united in marriage with Robert Adams in Lawrence. They later divorced. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2004. OFFICIATING CLERGY: Rev. Matthew Benorden. IN STATE: Mrs. Adams will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 1:00 p.m. Sunday to the service hour, where the family will meet with friends 7 to 8:00 Monday evening. CEMETERY: Highland Cemetery, Ottawa, Kansas.
