Leo T. Blackstone, age 84, of Princeton, Kansas, died Saturday, September 26, 2009, at Ransom Memorial Hospital in Ottawa, Kansas. He was born on Friday, September 11, 1925, in Princeton, Kansas. He was the son of Hiram Harley and Vena (Tucker) Blackstone. He was a lifelong resident of Princeton. Leo graduated from Rantoul High School with the class of 1943. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman and also worked in oil fields in Miami County. He was a fifty-six year member of Ottawa Lodge #18, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. On November 24, 1943, Leo was united in marriage with Nellie L. Watkins in Garnett, Kansas. She preceded him in death on August 5, 2007. Leo is survived by his: Son-David Lyle Blackstone of Princeton, KS Sister-Elenor Ball-Rantoul, KS Sister-in-law-Mary Jo Hermesmeyer of Osawatomie, KS Granddaughter-Jessica Blackstone of Osawatomine, KS Grandson-Jacob Blackstone of Princeton, KS Granddaughter-Julia Blackstone of Osawatomie, KS Gt.Granddaughter-Josie Troxel of Osawatomie, KS Gt.Grandson-Adarius Woods of Osawatomie, KS He was preceded in death by his: Wife-Nellie L. (Watkins) Blackstone Father-Hiram Harley Blackstone Mother-Vena (Tucker) Blackstone Son-Rockey Lee Blackstone SERVICES: Funeral services will be held at Ruhamah Baptist Church in Rantoul at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009. IN STATE: Friends may pay their respects to Mr. Blackstone at the Dengel & Son Mortuary in Ottawa from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 29, 2009. CEMETERY: Ruhamah Cemetery, Rantoul, Kansas.
