Lena Imogene Honn, 91, of Ottawa, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Olathe Medical Center. Family will meet with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at Dengel & Son Mortuary. Graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Highland Cemetery in Ottawa. Imogene was born September 8, 1927 in Ottawa, Kansas, the daughter of Eugene and Roberta (McAuley) Whitacre. She was a lifelong Ottawa resident. Imogene graduated from Ottawa High School with the class of 1945. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Cub Scout Leader and PTA Treasurer at Eugene Field Elementary School. On Sunday, June 8, 1947, Imogene was united in marriage to Vernon E. Honn at Ottawa, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Roberta Whitacre; sister, Sharon Wise and brothers, Robert and wife, Elloise Whitacre and Bill Whitacre. She is survived by her sons, James Honn and his wife, Kathy of Hoyt, Kansas and Frank Honn and his wife, Donna of Topeka, Kansas; daughter, Susan Maag of Carbondale, Kansas; brother, Norman Murdock and his wife, Martha of Covington, Washington; seven grandchildren, Adam Honn, Kelli Maag, Kim Walker, Deb Husted, Brandy Schnacker, Melissa Stallbaumer and Jennifer Honn Potter; nine great grandchildren, Danielle and Kassidy Husted, Nick and Samantha Walker, Jordon and Bobby Honn, Zackery and Noah Schnaker and Samantha Stallbaumer. Imogene dedicated her life to the city of Ottawa working four years at Peoples Bank, fifteen years at H. D. Lee and twelve years at Kramer Drug Store. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, bowling, fishing, playing cards and bingo. Memorial contributions may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church c/o Dengel & Son Mortuary, 235 S.
