Lela Rose Buehler, 74, Ottawa, died Sunday, May 27, 2007, at Village Manor Nursing Home, Ottawa. She was born Jan. 4, 1933, at Waverly to Vernon and Rose (Thimmesch) Samsel. She lived in Waverly until she moved to Ottawa in 1953. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1950. She worked as a cook at L&L Cafe, Ottawa, for more than 20 years. She also worked as a cook at the Mid-America Nutrition site for more than ten years and at the Ottawa Country Club for more than a year. She also worked as a seamstress at Mode O'Day, Ottawa, for several years. She was a charter member of the Ottawa Bible Church. She married Marlan Jay Buehler Dec. 30, 1950, at Waverly. He survives. Survivors also include daughter, Karen Haley, and her husband, David, Olathe; sons, Dale Buehler, Olathe, and David Buehler, and his wife, Sharon, Ottawa; sister, Vera Allan, and her husband, Art, Ottawa; grandson, Eric Haley; granddaughters, Kristen McCullough, and her husband, Mike, Andrea Haley, Lacey Buehler and Nina Buehler; great-grandson, Emmitt McCullough, Olathe; and many nieces and nephews. SERVICES: Funeral services will be held from the Dengel & Son Mortuary 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 30, 2007. IN STATE: Mrs. Buehler will lie in state at the Dengel & Son Mortuary after 10:00 AM Tuesday to the service hour where the family will meet with friends from 7:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening.
