Lawrence Vohs, 75, of Paola, passed away June 10, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital on the Plaza. Lawrence Vohs was born April 17, 1940 in Paola, the son of George and Stella (Minden) Vohs. He grew up in the Block community and graduated from Paola High School. On August 19, 1960 he married Wanda Smith at Block Lutheran Church in Block, KS. He was a member of Local Union 101 for 45 years. He operated scrapers, dozers, boom trucks, and also worked in building and trade. He loved rides on his Goldwing motorcycle to Cassoday on the 1st of the month. He totally enjoyed putting 470,000 miles on his Goldwing"s. Lawrence also has taken two vacations to Ohio for the Honda homecomings and got to tour the Honda manufacturing plant. Lawrence enjoyed his family, farming, checking cows on his 4 wheeler, hunting, and going to church and serving the Lord. He also enjoyed operating his tractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Alvin Vohs, grandparents, cousins, and multiple friends. He is survived by his wife of the home, Wanda; his daughter and family Tresa, Raylin, Ryin, and Tera Brandt of Paola; his son and family Michael, Mitchell, Ashley, and Tiffani; and great granddaughter Ava Vohs of Louisburg and Spring Hill. Memorials may be made to Louisburg Baptist Temple or Lighthouse Presbyterian Church.
