Lawrence Calvin Adams, 75, of Stilwell, Ks, passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2010. Lawrence was born on July 11, 1934 to Raymond and Mary Catherine Adams. He was raised on a farm and graduated from Stilwell, Ks. After working at Berry Hill farms, Lawrence went to work for Hallmark Cards. On November 1, 1963 he was united in marriage to Carol J. Adams. They moved to a farm and farmed for several years. Lawrence often reminisced about his farming days. Lawrence enjoyed reading Louis L"Amour western novels. One of his joys was coaching baseball and football in his earlier years. He loved attending his grandchildren"s sports activities and school events. He read the newspaper everyday and his favorite section was the comics. Another one of his enjoyments was playing solitaire on the computer. He was a life long resident of Stilwell and enjoyed living in the area. Lawrence enjoyed working at Hallmark and retired from there after 41 years of employment. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Blanche McClure, and Sue Peterson. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Carol; two brothers, Robert and Carl Adams; two sisters, Thelma Krogmann and June Ward; two sons, Larry Adams and David Luttrell; six daughters, Debra Munn, Melinda Hagen, Sheila Wright, Kathy Ohlmeier, Susan Briggs, and Teresa Briggs; and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lawrence always had a smile and a positive outlook. He dearly loved his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family. He loved to visit and reminisce. He is dearly loved as a Husband, Father and Grandpa. He will be greatly missed by his family and dear friends. Memorial contributions may be given to the Lawrence Adams Memorial Fund, Peoples Bank, 212 S. Broadway, Louisburg, Ks 66053. In honor of Lawrence"s dedication to coaching and attending his Grandchildren"s sporting events, contributions will be used to support youth sports activities and fund equipment.
